Hundreds of students in the Githurai slum of Nairobi, Kenya depend on local schools and feeding programs.

A school provides a safe environment to learn and the feeding program keeps them at school and able to focus.

On the outskirts of Nairobi, Githurai is one of the largest growing slums, with a population of about 500,000 people. Women account for 50% of the total population, making a living below $1 per day.
